I was at the Montreal International Jazz festival and while walking in the streets heard a familiar and outstanding blues harp wailing away.
At a recent Toronto Blues society harmonica seminar there was an artist entitled Barath Ramjakar who taught us his style of harp playing.
Here he was in the Heineken booth with the Barath Quartet singing blues by Sonny Boy Williamson like right out of the deep south.
They play every Friday from 6 to 10 pm at Griffins Pub on Notre Dame St. in Montreal. If you want to see one of the best up and coming blues artists in Canada, go check this quartet out.

Montreal Jazz festival 30th anniversary
If you like blues, jazz, drinking beer in the streets then this is the place for you. Lots of talent from all types of Jazzy musicians and lots of free outside concerts all around Place Des Arts in Montreal.
Stevie Wonder opened the show, Dave Brubek will enlighten the show and Nikki Yanovsky will close the show. 600 performances in the heart of Montreal.
I spoke with my piano and Jazz instructor and hoping he will make it for next year, either as a participant or spectator.
Come out and see it live in Montreal - home of the world's most beautiful woment.
