Jack B Nimble Open Mic at Abbey Road

I have travelled to many open mic jams in and around the Toronto GTA area, but this one just keeps getting better and better. In a small pub on Erin Mills Parkway near the 403 every Thursday night is the Jack B Nimble music jam. This open mic  used to be more of a karaoke sing song place. However it has now become a meca for the pro and semi pro musicians of Toronto to gather and show their best stuff.

Last night was amazing as singer after singer approached the mic and outdid the next. The band led by Len and guitarist Rick were amazing at being able to qucikly learn new songs at the musicians request. The band leader, Len with his long rocker hair style from the 60's is warm and unintimidating as he invites all musicians to show their abilities to the crowd. It is his warm nature that makes the cozy pub scene so fun and friendly. I believe this nature is what makes the musician crowd so special.

The beautiful part of the jam is the wide selection of age groups that attend, participate and watch. Grandparents, kids, soccer moms and all are in the house. If Rock and Roll (and or blues) can keep people of all ages together and happy, then maybe we can build a better world.

Keep on Rockin'
