I had the distinct pleasure to listen to Aviva Chernick
www.avivachernick.com a Canadian grown singer who sings in Hebrew and Spanish. Her powerful clear vocals are impressive and she is lead singer of two time Juno Award nominated group Jaffa Road. The uniqueness of her style is the middle eastern and biblical based music, which she brings alive into modern North American culture. Her supporting musicians play unique instruments such as the Ude, Sitar, flute and many different forms of guitar.
Here flute and vocal back up singer was Indian inspired to give her music a fusion between Sepharadic Moroccan and Mumbai India. She has a charming presence, and her roots are deep in Jewish culture as she sang song from King David's book of psalms, hymn 150.
