Lazer Lloyd - North America Tour

The last week of August saw Lazer LLoyd www.lazerlloyd.com travel from Los Angeles to Buffalo to Mississauga to Barrie to Thornhill to play his blues music. By the time he reached us in Canada, he was still recovering after surviving 50 days of war and living  in and out of bomb shelters in Jerusalem.

Alway full of positive energy Lazer's opening statement was  that no matter what goes on in war,  the world is filled with lots of good people. Unfortunately there are lots of bad leaders. He gave us hope that the average person is good and that the world is still a good place to enjoy. He also shared that one should live near mountains and water so that you can see the big picture of life.

The event was inspired to create a sense of unity for the people of Israel and the diaspora to celebrate life and stay together in times of difficulty. There is a concept that when the Jewish people are united we will merit the rebuilding of the 3rd temple in Jerusalem. This tour was an attempt to create that sense of unity.

Lazer's music has a special groove as he mixes middle eastern lyrics with Mississippi blues melodies. American born and musically trained, Lazer mixes his American electric and acoustic blues with his religious influence by Rabbi Shlomo Carlbach, known as the singing Rabbi. Below is a track of  Blues in Tel Aviv which I performed on harp with Lazer Lloyd, Gary Kendall on Bass and Mike Fitzpatrick on drums. It was a great moment.

The event in Thornhill was warm and enchanting as people of all ages gathered to hear one of Israel's greatest blues artists. He deserves a bigger and better venue, and we hope to provide that on the next tour. When the world is talking about boycotting Israeli goods, we are promoting a buycott of Israeli goods including Lazer Lloyd's rock and blues.

Rock On.
