Timothy's Pub - Featured Artist - Kimberley Wetmore Band

I had the pleasure to explore the west end of Toronto's music scene this week. Located at the south end of the 427 at 344 Browns Line is Timothy's Pub www.timothyspub.ca . A friendly neighborhood pub Timothy's draws a very talented pool of local musicians. On the  second Thursday of every month the Kimberly Wetmore Band www.kimberleywetmore.com rocks the house with her vocals, charm and smoothly run open mic.

She is a inspiring and humble hostess who brings out the best of the crowd. A very talented vocalist and performer she is a true Toronto superstar. In fact it was Kimberly who  nurtured me to return to study of music, While at  a house party with many excellent musicians, I pulled out my old harp and tried to play a lick or two. When the band started to stumble Kimberly came on stage to add vocals and direction to our songs. She saved our groove and inspired me to get busy and get better. I have been trying to improve since then.

There were a variety of hard and soft rock artists playing last night at Timothy,s. However, the house got quiet when a newly formed group called Bluestime www.bluestime.org took to the stage. Their sound was progressive blues with Alishan Hagopian playing harp and flute. The sound he created was kind of a cross between Jethro Tull and Paul Butterfield, his main influences. Passionate, colorful and tasteful, this new ensemble should be worthy of an evening of entertainment for those looking for a unique blues tone. They are looking for gigs so please give them a try. The secret of Toronto's developing music scene is the diversity of artists and their blend. Alishan and his brother are from Lebanon and the other band members are from Canada. Toronto the good is getting better.

Making Toronto a better place, one jam at a time.
