Zen and The Adventure Network

Every blogger needs a theme to focus on. This writer has been sharing experiences  to highlight the beauty of  art and sport to achieve the highest form of optimal psychology known as Flow and/or Zen. All of these articles have been written with the desire to share those adventures that have touched or can touch ones inner artist. From music to mountains to martial arts and public speaking the writer has tried to take you to an experience electronically. In the past he did it physically as well. The mission is to share this Zen feeling with all of you. It is the battle of experience over materialism.

There is evidence that greater than 70 percent of employees in North America are dissatisfied with their work. An unhappy worker comes home and shares that unhappiness to make an unhappy family. Mihaly Csikszentmihaly the author of Flow State speaks about  the work place, in his book "Good Business: Flow and the Making of Meaning". In this book he describes that in the past  it was the monarchs that controlled society  and the people's  state of happiness. Now he state that it is business leaders who are the new monarchs.  His concept is that in order to make the world a better place employers need to build more opportunities for employees to achieve flow in their work. He suggest a work place that has a balance between production and spiritual meaningfulness. When we can all be achieving flow during our working hours we can bring it home and make the family and society a better place.

When the family is in flow, we can reduce the rate of divorce and obesity and other toxins created from an unhealthy work environment. The achievement of Flow or Zen is more easily achieved outside of the work place as is described in the Adventure Network blog. However, it is the mission to expand this quality of psychological state to the working hours of every working person.

To that at end is the thesis of this writer and hoping we can all find our Zen. In the words of Pablo Picasso "The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of Life is to give it away"
