Liane Fainsinger's Touch of Jazz at Relish Bar and Grill

In our ongoing efforts to support Canadian artists, and the institutions that encourage them, a special mention must be made of Relish Bar and Grill www.relishbarandgrill.com on the Danforth near Woodbine in Toronto for their regular live music and open mic on Sundays at 9:00pm.

This Sunday May 5th 2013 was a special treat as they reopened their brunch time stage to Liane Fainsinger, an accomplished jazz pianist and vocalist to enchant the audience. She was accompanied by her quartet, with John on sax, Roger on bass, and Phil on drums. Liane played a wide selection of  bebop era music based on her training with Barry Harris, her main guru. The beautiful part of her performance is the historical  background introduction she added to all the songs she played with courteous acknowledgements to the original artists.

She touched the small crowd when she brought out her handsome son Simon an acapella singer to do a duet with the song Downtown. Simon is a talented singer with the acapella group The Varsity Jews  www.varsityjews.com.

A passionate and classically trained jazz pianist, expect to see more of the Liane Fainsiner Quartet at various distinguished jazz music gigs in Toronto.

Jazz On,

The Adventure Guy
