The Basement Yoga and Fitness Bathurst and Sheppard

The basement Yoga www.thebasementyoga.com is a new studio and a recycled Karate school. I had the experience visiting it when it was a martial arts facility and what a pleasant transformation. The space has been nicely renovated and with a woman's touch has made the facilities clean and warm. A far cry from the dirty karate dojo I once visited.

My instructor Bex, was very hip, and she had spent time in India learning her craft. She was very young and a pleasure to lead the class with her rhythmic instructions.
I have been to many yoga classes, but when she pulled out the guitar and played gentle Beatles music to complete our meditation, I felt this was an additional skill that should be praised.
The school is new and there were only four of us on a Friday lunch hour class, so it was very spacious. The room is not hot yoga like Moksha, but just right for us Canadian yoga students. It may be located in a basement, but you would never know it due to the clean and tasteful improvements.

Well worth the visit,
