The Inspirational Power of Music - Humber College Music Department

It was a wonderful Thursday spring night at Desotos Bar and Grill Open Mic in the St. Clair area of Toronto. Upon my return from the outing I read the message from the Toastmasters International President Mohammed Murad DTM about the power of music to inspire. He suggested that we need to all be addicted to continuous improvement and inspiration. Music has that unique quality to continuously inspire.

The Toronto music scene is maturing and the old guard of self taught learn by ear musicians are being challenged by a younger highly trained music type. This week I was impressed by Tanya and Friends from the Humber College Jazz Faculty. Humber College Jazz Faculty http://www.humber.ca/scapa/programs/music/bachelor-of-music.

I have seen several young groups of  students from this institution, and the quality is excellent. At Desotos, we have music professors from York University and a variety of professionals in the house. However, the talent that comes out of Humber College Jazz department is quite remarkable.

If you are thinking of attending or sending a child for some fine music instruction, this may be the place for you to explore further. It will be an inspiration for all those old style self taught musicians.

Rock on,

The Adventure Guy.
